La Ruta del Cister

The Cistercian Route is a long-distance trail, the GR175, which connects the three Cistercian monasteries in the area: Santes Creus, Vallbona de les Monges and Poblet.

The Cistercian Route goes through 65 towns and villages in the areas of Alt Camp, Conca de Barberà and Urgell. Its focus is based on three monasteries founded in Catalonia during the 12th century: the monastery of Santes Creus, the monastery of Vallbona de les Monges and the monastery de Poblet. This route brings together landscapes, gastronomy, art and crafts, history and tradition. The aim is a journey of discovery through this region by visiting museums and cellers (wine cellars), either doing so by car, walking or on mountain bike, in order to make the most of the natural scenery inherent along the Cistercian Route.
