Festes de Sant Roc de la Plaça Nova
This year the feasts of Sant Roc de la Plaça Nova will be double. On the one hand, we celebrate 110 years of the old giants, Roc and Laia, and on the other the Premium drummer group celebrating their twentieth anniversary.
The feasts of Sant Roc of Barcelona in the Plaça Nova - the local festival of the Cathedral and Gothic district- are the oldest popular feasts in the city, dating back to 1589 when the cathedral district residents founded the Cofradia de San Roch de la Plassa Nov and started to celebrate them. Since then they have survived all of the episodes that the residents, the district and the city have suffered and enjoyed.
