In Catalonia, we are fascinated by water. The marine tradition has influenced the country’s culture, but we just especially love the water. Good weather and mild temperatures in Catalonia invite you to soak in the water almost all year round: in the sea or in the mountains, in a kayak or a canoe, water-skiing or riverboarding... You have many options to choose from. <br><br><b>White-water</b><br>The Noguera Pallaresa is one of the most spectacular rivers in our country, especially after the thaw. It starts in the Pla de Beret, right in the middle of the Vall d’Aran. Its 146 kilometres are a paradise for lovers of rafting and kayaking. Don’t miss the chance to shoot the white-water rapids.<br><br><b>Lakes, a good option for families</b><br>The aquatic magnetism pulls you in when you navigate the calm water of Banyoles lake in a canoe while you watch the sunrise. We highly recommend this place for children: the waters are calm and the natural surroundings are beautiful. Banyoles is the largest lake in Catalonia, but it’s not the only one. We have other lakes, such as the Ivars i Vila-sana lake and the Terradets lake, where you will find a number of different water-related activities. We recommend these for families, although they are also a great getaway with friends.<br><br><b>What to do on the beach</b><br>The beaches are another option for children. There are over 800 kilometres of coastline, from Cape Falcó in the north, to the Sènia river to the south. Coves and beaches of the stage for activities organised by the watersports centres: from sailboating and tubing to diving and exploring the bottom of the sea. The centres offer personal instructors so that you can actively experience the sea.
