The area is very cold and the path can be icy, so snowshoes or crampons will be very useful and necessary. Walking along the north face of Cadí you will discover this side of the mountain with enormous rock walls that seem to caress the clouds, and the great biodiversity that inhabits it. Practically the entire route takes place within the Natural Park.Montardo and Montardo PetitDistance: 19 km / Cumulative difference in altitude: 435/650 m / Type of route: linearThis route is quite different through the National Park of Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici. It is a classic of Catalan hiking to do with snowshoes: the ascent to the Montardo from the Cavallers reservoir, in the Vall de Boí. The route, which runs entirely through the park, is divided into two days. On the first day you climb to the beautiful Ventosa i Calvell refuge, and the second day culminates with the ascent to the summit of Montardo, more than 2,800 meters high. This is undoubtedly one of the best natural vantage points to contemplate the sea of white waves that form the snow-capped peaks of Catalonia's only National Park.
