It opened its doors in 1892 and since then, 5 generations of the family have continued with the business. Its offer of traditional Catalan cuisine is combined with a warm and friendly atmosphere. In its main hall, there is an impressive wooden altarpiece with carvings of historical figures and typical enclaves of the city such as the cathedral and the Basilica of Sant Félix, presided over by the patron saint of the city, Sant Narcís.In the various themed rooms decorated with antique objects, you can taste typical dishes of Catalan cuisine such as oven-baked lamb shoulder, fish stew - a fishermen's recipe - and pig's feet.Day 2: Visit to a brick workshop in UllastretOn the second day of the route you move to the medieval village of Ullastret to live a gastronomic experience. You will visit the Recuits Nuri workshop with Visit Empordanet to see how the mató (curd) is made. In this area of the Empordà, the elaboration of this product has a long tradition. Josep Pla, a writer from Emporda, was a great lover of this dessert.In this family workshop you will witness the entire artisanal process of making these dairy products with goat's milk. The visit ends with a tasting of mató, which you can accompany with honey or sugar.On your return to Girona, take the opportunity to stroll through its medieval quarter before ending the trip. During the walk you can taste a chuixo, a pastry with a typical custard of the city.
