We recommend a two-day route to enjoy your favourite sport on the Costa Daurada, an hour's drive from Barcelona. A trip in which the golf is complemented by a bit of culture and wine tourism. Take advantage of the mild temperatures of spring and autumn to practice some shots and enjoy the spectacle of the vineyards. You will spend the night at Gran Palas Hotel, at Vila-seca and the Pineda Beach. This 5-star resort, located in front of Racó beach, has a large terrace with swimming pool and one of the largest spas on the Costa Daurada, measuring 4,000 square meters. Day 1: Green fee at La Pineda and visit to the cathedral of Tarragona In the morning we suggest a day of golf at the Infinitum Golf in Pineda. This club is home to the PGA of Europe's prestigious annual four ball event. It has three courses designed by golfer Greg Norman. The most important course, the Lakes, is a water obstacle course that surrounds the wetlands of the Séquia Major. The Hills is an undulating course that winds its way through forests and offers good views of the sea. The last one, the Ruins, with 9 holes (par 35), has the interesting addition of Roman archaeological remains from the 2nd century BC. The club has The Lake House Bistrot and Flamma Beach restaurants Clubhouse, with 7 large swimming pools and sea views. It has also obtained the Audubon International Gold Signature Sanctuary certificate, which recognises its sustainable environmental model and responsible water management. In the afternoon you will head to Tarragona, 15 minutes from La Pineda. The ancient Tarraco has several monuments from the Roman era that have been declared World Heritage Sites, such as the walls, the amphitheater, the theater and the Paleo-Christian necropolis. Strolling through the most Roman of the Catalan cities, you will discover one of its main architectural attractions: the Diocese Museum of Tarragona, and also its main facade, with a large portal and a rose window. If you do the full visit, you will go up to the bell tower, a great vantage point to enjoy the views of the city. Day 2: Golf in Tarragona The second day of the golf route takes you near Tarragona, to the Costa Daurada Golf Club, offering a sporting experience surrounded by Mediterranean nature. Here you’ll enjoy your green fee on an 18-hole course (par 72), with a technical and varied layout that combines open areas with more strategic holes, set within a peaceful, tree-lined environment. The club also features a comprehensive practice area to refine your game, as well as an 18-hole pitch and putt course. Not far from to the golf club is Escornalbou Castle, with a Romanesque church, that of Sant Miquel. Take the opportunity to visit it, as it is a perfect vantage point to take in the countryside of Tarragona and Muntanyes de Prades. You can also take a walk through the natural surroundings of Mont-roig del Camp. Its landscape was a source of inspiration for the painter Joan Miró, who set up his studio here. Then, you will make a wine tourism visit to the Celler Mas Vicenç, in Cabra del Camp. This family winery of the DO Tarragona is located in the Serra de Miramar, very close to the limits with the DO Conca de Barberà. During the tour of the farm and the production rooms, they will explain the history and philosophy of the winery in an educational way. The guided tour ends on the terrace with views of the farmhouse, where there is a tasting of wines, olive oil, dried fruit and honey produced by the same winery. If you like sport, the winery also organises experiences such as Nordic walking between vineyards. With this tasting of artisanal products and wine from the DO Tarragona ends this route with great taste for the culture and traditions of the Costa Daurada.
