Camin Reiau: the Val d'Aran step by stepThe circular route Camin Reiau discovers the 33 villages of Val d'Aran. It runs along the paths that used to be the main routes of communication between the various inhabited areas. The proposal divides the route into 10 stages of around 15 kilometers. You can adapt the number of stages to your fitness or to the days you have available.The river will be your compassThe roar of the Noguera de Tor water will accompany you along the route. The start of the route is the source of the Mena and proceeds in a northerly direction towards Caldes de Boí, next to the Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici National Park. The 27 kilometer route follows old livestock roads and narrow paths. The area is very cold and the path can be icy, so snowshoes or crampons will be very useful.Walking along the north face of Cadí, you will discover this side of the mountain with huge rock walls that they seem to caress the clouds, and the great biodiversity that inhabits it. Practically the entire route runs within the natural park, which owes its name to the Cadí and Moixeró mountain ranges, joined by the Tancalaporta pass, which form an impressive 30 km long mountain barrier .Ruta Caraglaçada: the winter version of the CaracremadaIn total there are 60 km that are covered with snowshoes. It can be completed in 4 days, during which you will travel through some of the most beautiful valleys of the Pre-Pyrenees. It has Rasos de Peguera, in Berguedà, as its departure point and the arrival is at Port del Comte. The Caraglaçada route is the winter version of the Caracremada route, which was the nickname of the last Catalan maqui, a great connoisseur of the area. The name is not the only feature that differentiates them, the Caracremada route is circular and starts and ends in Rasos de Peguera, while the Caraglaçada is linear.Choose a route, put on your boots and start walking.
