We suggest a 4-day route through Costa Barcelona and Paisatges Barcelona to practise golf and enjoy a wine tourism experience just 40 minutes from Barcelona. Spring and autumn are good times of the year to do this route, since the mild climate invites you to practise golf and the vineyards offer quite a visual spectacle when they change from green to ochre and reddish hues. On this trip, you will stay for 3 nights in a hotel that is also a winery: the Cava & Hotel Mastinell. It is located in Vilafranca del Penedès, a town closely linked to the tradition of castles and the viticulture. It has many wineries, both in the municipality and in the surrounding area. For this reason it is known as the capital of wine in Catalonia. This 5-star boutique hotel surprises with its peculiar design, as it is shaped like a set of cava bottles. In addition, its roof has been made with the trencadís ceramic technique, in honour of the architect Gaudí. Day 1: Golf day with views of Montserrat</ p> Once you have settled in the hotel, the first stop is the Club de Golf Barcelona, in Sant Esteve Sesrovires. The first thing you see when you arrive is the profile of the Montserrat mountain that presides over the views. Once there, we propose the 18-hole Masia Bach course (par 72) and 6,271 square meters. This course is demanding and varied, as it has three central lakes and a lot of trees, which requires technique and concentration. It was designed by José María Olazábal, one of the most recognized Spanish golfers. The club also has other services, such as an outdoor heated pool, sauna and a 4-star hotel. Day 2: Cava and chocolate in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia</ p> The second day of the route you move to Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, on the Costa Barcelona. This town is known as the capital of cava because it has more than 80 producing wineries in its surroundings. Here you can enjoy a visit to the Freixenet wineries of the DO Cava. They have been producing cava and wine since 1861 and have ancient and very deep cellars, located 20 metres underground. In this combined visit a train will take you to the winery, a modernist building from 1927. The visit includes the tasting of two cavas and entry to the Simón Coll Chocolate Space. Here you will taste the artisanal chocolate and see the entire production process through an audiovisual assembly. Day 3: Golf by the sea and medieval wines in the Garraf</ p> The third day of the route in the morning is the time to practise golf in Sitges. The Club de Golf Terramar, founded in 1927, is one of the oldest in Spain and the closest to Barcelona airport. Its 18-hole course (par 72) is located just 20 metres from the sea and offers beautiful views. Its holes offer great variety: some are flat and wide and others, surrounded by lakes and trees, which require greater precision. The club has a practice area, a putting green and a green to practice the approach and bunker shots. It also has tennis courts, padel tennis courts and a swimming pool. After the sports day, head to Viladellops, in the Garraf Natural Park. This 100% organic estate certified by the DO Penedès is located next to the monumental complex of the Castell d'Olerdola. This building is an exponent of the history of El Penedès from the Bronze Age to the High Middle Ages. During the visit you will tour in a 4x4 vehicle the vineyards where native varieties such as Grenache are grown for for red wines and Xarello for whites. After tasting 3 wines, you will take a Land Rover to discover a 12th century hermitage and an 11th century medieval tower, two jewels of the town's cultural heritage. Day 4: The landscapes of Barcelona as seen from a balloon On the last day of the route, a balloon flight awaits you through the skies of Igualada and inland Catalonia. At Igualada-Ódena Airport, the company Kon-Tiki organises these flights that they reach 1,500 metres in height. The first thing you will do is to receive instructions while enjoying some artisan cakes and fruit juice while the balloon is being prepared. Then you will take off to soar across the sky for an hour and enjoy of views like the unique peaks of the Montserrat mountain. At the end of the flight you will receive a diploma, you will be photographed, which you will receive by e-mail, and you will make a toast this adventure through the air. Back at the hotel, take the opportunity to have one of the vinotherapy treatments or enjoy a glass of their wines to say goodbye to this area of inland Catalonia that offers an attractive combination of outdoor sports, wine tourism and medieval gems to visit.
