In Vall de Boí you will find out, as well as learning about the important Romanesque legacy that exists in this corner of the Pyrenees of Catalonia. The Vall de Boí Romanesque Centre arranges guided family tours so you can discover every last detail of one of the most important Romanesque church complexes in the world, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Inside the church of Sant Climent de Taüll you will see a mapping projection showing the original frescoes of the apse and the imposing Pantocrator that are currently preserved in the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya. The audiovisual presentation will take your children’s breath away!Pirates in sight!Find out what it’s like to be an old pirate and smuggler of Pineda de Mar and take part in the Pirates in sight! route, organised by the town’s Tourist Office. You will discover that there were pirates of all origins, such as Genoese, French, Turks or Barbarians! To protect themselves from the pirates, they built defence towers in strategic places on the Maresme coast during the 15th and 18th centuries. They were used to watch if they were coming ashore, to defend themselves and also as a refuge. In 1945 they suffered a bloody attack by Turkish privateers captained by the pirate Dragut. You will find an inscription of this on the church portal.In addition to pirates, discover other archaeological remains in Pineda de Mar such as the Roman aqueduct of Can Cua or the Flour Mill and the Lime Kiln of Can Marquès. The route takes place during spring and summer, and you can do it on foot or by bike.Iberians, Greeks and Romans on the coastThe Citadel Museum in Roses organises the family activity, the Ecomuseu or the “Millefeuilles Rucksack”. During this self-guided game, children will discover how the first inhabitants of the Citadel lived and played. The starting point of the scavenger hunt is under the Milfulles, a magical tree that has lived through the Greeks and Romans, and they will be guided through history and the grounds. At the Roses Citadel you will be given all the material to take part in this activity: a story guide and a rucksack full of objects.Would you like to try your hand at making flour in an old mill or visit a house that is more than 2,500 years old? In the Iberian Citadel of Calafell you will get to discover through touch and experience how our Iberian ancestors lived. During the spring and summer, this reconstructed site arranges specific activities for the family: scavenger hunts to discover the site, demonstrations of ancient trades, themed visits and children’s workshops.Modernism and prehistory on the Costa DauradaDiscover Reus in a unique and exciting way. Reus Tourism offers you the chance to delve into the city’s heritage, through a digital experience where you will learn all about modernism. This activity includes several challenges for you to discover and learn about the heritage and history of Reus. Your final destination will be the Gaudí Centre and there you can collect your reward. It is a fun game of discovery that you can do at your own pace. The activity takes around two hours.In Espluga de Francolí, in Muntanyes de Prades, there is one of the most extensive conglomerate caves in the world, which is more than 3.5 kilometres long. It is called the Tortosa? Your guide will be a knight of the order and he will take you to places such as the Castle of La Suda and the Cathedral of Santa Maria de Tortosa. During the visit, this very special guide, dressed in the Templar uniform, will tell you all the secrets of this community that came about in the 14th century. The visit takes place on the second Saturday of each month at 5 pm (in summer at 6 pm).
