Families who love water adventures have it very easy in Catalonia, enjoying them right on the coast. From the practice of new and exciting sports such as wingfoil or parasailing, to even taking part in a marine escape room. Wingfoil and kitesurfing on the Costa Brava In Platja d'Aro, Set Sail Costa Brava suggests you try a new sport: wingfoil. It consists of gliding over the sea on a board similar to that used in paddle surf. The novelty is that this board has a “wing” below it which causes the board to be lifted out of the water and remain in suspension. Take a private class to find out the basic notions. In Sant Pere Pescador, try out another water sport that will generate lots of adrenaline for you: kite surfing. Platja de Can Martinet, a beach bordering the Gola del Fluvià and the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà Natural Park, is a unique place to do it thanks to the ever-changing wind conditions. Then you can end the day at the Club Nàutic de Sant Pere Pescador, a great place to take a kayak route along the Fluvià river, which will lead you into Reserva Integral de l’Illa de Caramany nature reserve. The La Ballena Alegre campsite has a sailing school and also offers diving, windsurfing, kite surfing and stand up paddle classes. Cable skiing and parasailing on the Costa Barcelona For the most daring, it's well worth trying the parasailing. It consists of flying over the sea with a parachute being pulled along by a boat. At the Water Sports Centre of Santa Susanna there are specialised guides who will teach you everything you need to know. At the Olímpic Cable Park of Castelldefels you can try cable skiing, a fun water activity. Clinging to a cable that pulls you along the circuit, you can slide over the water on water-skis or a wakeboard and feel the adrenaline charging through your body. There is a 110-metre beginner circuit and an instructor will accompany you in the experience to make you feel safe. Jet skiing and Explorers Soul on the Costa Daurada On the Costa Daurada, the Nàutic Parc Costa Daurada i Terres de l’Ebre water sports resort organises the Explorers Soul Salou. The experience begins with two activities to choose from: a kayak or paddle surfing outing to see Salou from the sea. Afterwards, you can choose between sailing the sea on a mini-cruiser or on a catamaran. The seaside day ends with lunch, included in the activity, at the club's restaurant. In Torredembarra, you will traverse the sea with Lassdive, where you can do some jet skiing. You can take a one-hour guided route. Kayak adventure and a marine Escape Experience in Terres de l'Ebre The guided kayak route Buda Island Route, organized by Riu a l’Ebre, starts in the Gola del Migjorn, one of the former mouths of the Ebro River. This area borders the island of Buda, one of the most inaccessible and wild areas of the Delta, and ends on a broad beach. Along the way you will be able to admire the typical landscape of the delta: the riparian forests, reed beds, and all the species of waterfowl that inhabit the region. Plàncton Diving offers you an exciting adventure: the Posidonia Escape Experience. It’s a kind of marine escape room, where families are invited to be part of a team of researchers who must find out what is happening to the ocean posidonia, a Mediterranean marine plant, and try to save it. A fun adventure to learn more about the marine life of the Catalan coast, which can also be done in various ways: diving, snorkelling or at the beach. Have your swimsuit ready?
