We propose a 3-day route around the Montgrí Natural Park, the Medes Islands and the Baix Ter which offers you three very diverse landscapes: the archipelago of the Illes Medes, the wetlands of the Ter river when it flows into the bay of Pals and the rocky massif of Montgrí. Here stands a castle that offers 360º panoramic views of the area.The base camp is Camping Les Medes. It is located in the middle of the Montgrí, les Illes Medes i el Baix Ter Natural Park, surrounded by cultivated fields. It has a swimming pool, sports area and children's entertainment. Diving lessons are taught in its facilities.The ideal time to do this route is from spring to autumn, as the mild temperatures invite diving and sports and outdoor activities.Day 1: Segway route and scuba diving in the Illes MedesThe day begins with a dive with Costa Brava Divers, at Illes Medes. These islands are one of the most important reserves of marine flora and fauna in the Mediterranean and throughout Europe. Located next to Estartit, you can dive there all year round. The activity begins at the diving centre with an explanation of basic concepts about this water sport. You will then set sail on a boat to dive into the sea, together with the instructor. The maximum depth to which you will dive will be 10 metres. The dive will last 20 minutes and the whole activity 3 hours. In its seabed of great ecological value you will see algae, posidonia meadows, corals, various species of fish and starfish. In the afternoon, on the route organised by the Gualta, where there is a five-arched Romanesque bridge. Then you climb up to the mountain of Font de la Pasquala, from where you can see the whole area of Baix Ter: the sea, the Illes Medes and the massis del Montgrí. The guide will explain some details of the area's history during the route.Day 2: Aeronautical sports and DO Empordà wine tastingThe second day of the route you move to Empuriabrava to perform a parachute jump with Skydive. Here, expert instructors will give you flight instructions and accompany you on a jump at 4,000 metres high.From the heights you will contemplate the beach of Empuriabrava, with 1.5 km of fine sandy beach. You will also enjoy the beauty of the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà Natural Park, the second most important wetlands in Catalonia, after the Delta de l'Ebre, and an ideal enclave for bird watching.With Skydive you will also have a session in the wind tunnel Windoor Realfly. This installation is a vertical tunnel with wind generated by powerful turbines that allow you to float and improve your technique in the air.In the afternoon, it's time for a guided tour of the winery La Vinyeta in Mollet de Peralada, very close to the Albera mountain range. You will walk among centuries-old vineyards and olive trees while they explain to you how they make their DO Empordà wines. In their vineyards you will discover beehives that they have incorporated to promote pollination and also to produce honey.At the end of the visit you will enjoy a wine tasting and have the possibility to complement the visit with a breakfast among the vineyards or a picnic, with prior reservation.Day 3: Balloon flight and ceramics workshopThe last day of route, another activity awaits you to enjoy the Empordà sky: a hot air balloon flight. The Globus Empordà company, located in Colomers, organises this experience.During the 60-minute balloon ride you will observe the landscape of this area where medieval towns abound, such as Verges or Ullastret, and the cultivated fields and vineyards. You will also enjoy an almond cake with a glass of cava for the adults and juice for the children. As a complement to the flight, a hot breakfast can be booked in a restaurant in a medieval village in the area.In the afternoon, you will transfer to la Bisbal d'Empordà, a town with a great ceramic tradition and of international reference in which products are produced under the Ceràmica de the Bisbal, which guarantees its authenticity. You will visit a ceramic workshop with Visit Empordanet. A master potter will open the doors of his workshop to show you how they work.
