In the broadest sense of the word, recapte refers to any food provisions, either leftover food or food which has been collected together by each households (often in festive occasions, parties, etc.). So many different ingredients go into a recapte; these include particularly vegetables, meat and preserved fish such as herring. In Lleida, the coca (typical Catalan bread) made from recapte is known as cutxipanda or catxipanda.
