The flair of good seafood cuisine is one of the most popular appeals of Cambrils. This maritime town is considered the gastronomic capital of the Costa Daurada due to the high quality of the raw materials, such as fresh fish and vegetables from Km 0. Throughout the year, the town celebrates several gastronomic events, such as the galleys, squids and artichokes. Two of the protagonists of Cambrils cuisine are "rosso" noodles and fish stew. Taste these two popular fisherman's dishes in the town's restaurants, paired with any of the Tarragona DO wines. Another proposal related to seafood cuisine is to take a guided tour of the town's fish market, at the Fishermen's Guild of the port, and also see the spectacle of the arrival of the boats loaded with catches. Cambrils preserves two monuments of its historical legacy, always linked to the sea. The Roman villa of la Llosa, located very close to the Passeig Marítim, is the first. This site, open to the public, was inhabited between the 1st century BC and the 6th century AD. The second is the Ermita tower. This medieval defence tower, used to defend against pirate attacks, can also be visited and hosts the permanent exhibition A place called Cambrils throughout the year, as well as various temporary exhibitions organised by the Centre for Cambrils Studies. This seaside town is a Family Tourism Destination and offers a lot of activities for families, both in summer and winter. One of the most visited family places is Samà park, a botanical garden that grows around what was the residence of Salvador Samà, Marquess of Marianao, an Indian who made his fortune in Cuba. When he returned to Catalonia, he wanted the island to remain very present in his life. He commissioned the architect Josep Fonserè i Mestres to design a house surrounded by gardens and a lake reminiscent of Cuba. The result is gardens that combine the Cuban natural landscape with romanticism. Cambrils has a total of 9 beaches to enjoy the sea and the practice of water sports, such as catamaran and sailboat excursions, scuba diving or kayak trips. The Passeig Marítim is perfect for enjoying, on foot or by bike, the landscape of the Cambrils coast.
