We suggest a 4-day route to enjoy wine tourism, the sky and the gastronomy of the Terres de Lleida, two hours by car from Barcelona. This allows you to enjoy many nights of starry skies. In the planetarium equipped with 3D technology and a movable dome you can observe the universe and the stars following the explanations of experts. The most daring can also enjoy the sky, paragliding and marvelling at the magnificent views from the air.Afterwards, you can enjoy an astronomical dinner at Restaurant El Claustre from Monastery of the Avellanes, in Os de Balaguer. In this old 12th century abbey, surrounded by vineyards, you will taste a menu prepared by chef Bobby Cabral. This menu also has the scientific advice of the director of the Center for Observing the Universe in Àger. Its original dishes are inspired by the different planets and stars.Day 2: Wine tourism and high-altitude hikingThe second day begins with a visit at the winery Castell del Remei, from the DO Costers de Segre, in Penelles. This cellar, the oldest in Catalonia, was built in 1780 to produce the first Catalan aging wines. During the visit you will visit the castle where it is located, the naves, the sanctuary of Our Lady of Remei and also the oil mill and the flour mill.The visit includes a tasting of 3 wines. The best time to visit the wineries is in the months of September and October, during the harvest season. The vineyards show all their splendor, filled with grapes, and offer a spectacle of aromas and colour.In the afternoon, the plan is a hiking route through the gorge of Mont-rebei, the only unspoilt one in Catalonia, organised by the company Pireneu Emotion. During the tour along its enormous vertical walls of 500 metres high you can glimpse the turquoise waters of the Noguera Ribagorçana river. A local guide-interpreter will accompany you to comment on the landscape you will discover along the way. The trip also includes a panoramic route through the Coll d'Ares, a mountain pass that crosses the Montsec mountain range and offers great panoramic views at an altitude of 1,513 m.Day 3: Tasting of organic wines and extra virgin olive oilThe third day begins with a visit to the winery Clos Pons of the DO Costers de Segre. Located in Albagés, between slopes of organic vineyards, it also has a mill to produce its own extra virgin olive oil. The guided tour begins with a breakfast paired with its flagship wine, Alges, an organic aged red. At the end of the tour, you will taste 4 of the main Clos Pons wines surrounded by olive trees and arbeca-2-1-250292">Arbeca olive trees. In this town there is the oil producer Nou Seconds. Here you will take part in an oil tourism experience run by the company Hola Olive. This is a taste of extra virgin olive oil from the Protected Designation of Origin les Garrigues. An oil made with the local olive variety, Arbequina, harvested by hand.The Ruta de l'Oli runs through this area. It is a route that connects around thirty towns that produce this oil, surrounded by a natural environment of centuries-old olive groves and forests with aromatic plants such as rosemary and thyme.Day 4: The discovery of the Templars in the castle of GardenyOn the fourth day, the destination is the monumental ensemble of the Powerful Order of Gardeny, in Lleida. Embark on an exciting journey to discover one of the most interesting and controversial religious communities in our history: the Templars.This complex, built in the 12th century, is made up of the Castle of Gardeny, the room tower, the tribute tower and the Romanesque church of Santa Maria de Gardeny. It became the property of the Order of the Templars after they helped conquer the city of Lleida on 1149, which was under Saracen rule.You will see an audiovisual projection about the origin of this community and the rules that governed it.
