Small family hotel near the sea in Llafranc on the Costa Brava, with an award-winning Michelin-starred restaurant. It first opened in 1955, when Joan Casellas and Maria Balaguer transformed a summer home from the early 20th century into five-bedroom accommodation which a few years later was expanded to cover 20 rooms.
Today, their descendants are at the forefront of a business committed to quality. The same people are behind the restaurant, which picked up its first Michelin star in 2011. Based on a philosophy of slow food and local produce, it serves sophisticated and tasty dishes such as Cambrils-style rice, Cantal cheese salad, tapenade vinaigrette nuts and roasted duck with Williams pears and a muscat sauce.
