The Sió-Llobregós valleys are a steppe-type area located at the foot of the La Segarra plateaus. Most of this area is occupied by a combination of farmland scattered among wooded areas and scrubland, as well as areas of gypsicolous vegetation. Here, we can mainly find dry farming crops, particularly barley and, to a lesser extent, wheat.
In the area and the villages around and inside it, there are good examples of cultural and historical elements, especially Romanesque castles and churches, as well as a considerable number of stone or dry stone huts.
This is an important area for the dispersion of young Bonelli's eagles (Hieraaetus fasciatus), although you can also see other interesting steppe bird species, such as the hen harrier.
