Transcatalunya: Tortosa – Gandesa

The first few kilometres of this stage are very easy to cover by bike (La Terra Alta Greenway), up to the outskirts of Bot. The second part is full of short climbs and descents, among the area's typical cropland.

The stage begins in Plaça de la Vila de Tortosa square, in front of the town hall. It follows the streets of the town until the start of La Terra Alta greenway. Take the greenway after passing a roundabout and riding a few metres along the road in front of the units of the industrial estate.

Be careful, as some sections of the greenway are shared with vehicle traffic and the odd small section is lacking signposting. On reaching Xerta, the greenway disappears and you ride along the streets of the town, crossing it until you come to the old railway station. At this point, rejoin the greenway and its classic construction and do not leave it again until the outskirts of the town of Bot.

You must have lights on your bicycle and be careful with the tunnels, as some are not lit and are very bust during certain times of year.

Before reaching the town of Bot, leave the greenway on a trail to your right up a steep slope in rather bad condition for around 500 metres. Pay attention to the GPS tracker and follow it carefully, because it sometimes follows paths no longer in use or through croplands.

When you come to the TV-3531 road, turn right towards Gandesa and you will arrive after around 5 kilometres.
