Transcatalunya: Talarn – La Pobla de Segur

This section between Talarn and La Pobla de Segur is twenty-four kilometres long and forms part of the long TransCatalonia route. The path passes the towns of Tremp and Aramunt, and Sant Antoni reservoir.

Leave Talarn along the village streets until you come to the local road that runs downhill to meet the C-13 road. Be very careful due to the busy traffic, and turn right to enter Tremp in a few kilometres, an interesting point thanks to its historic centre.

Follow the streets to the C-1412 road, where you turn right to cross the Noguera Pallaresa river. Leave the road and cross the Gavet canal before starting the gentle climb along a tarmacked trail. After a few metres, the trail turns left and runs uphill alongside the La Coma gorge, on an increasingly steep slope along a dirt path up to Sant Antoni reservoir. From here on, the route descends a little and then follows the banks of the rservoir with constant ups and downs through forestland to Aramunt.

From Aramunt, simply follow the paved footpath that connects the village with La Pobla de Segur, across the old bridge over the Noguera Pallaresa river.
