Wine Tourism Routes through Catalonia

Book
Where to start when exploring the world of wine in Catalonia? We suggest you take one of the many wine tourism routes. You can find them in the 12 Catalan Denomination of Origin (DO) areas, eleven for wine and one for sparkling wine. Each area has a unique personality, characterised by the influence of the climate and landscape. Some routes combine wine with culture or discovering historic remains, alongside activities that aim to introduce you to the essence of the wine trade, such as harvesting or treading grapes. Of course, there is no shortage of combinations of wines and gastronomy.

You will come across many wineries along the routes, an essential piece of the wine jigsaw. More than 300 wineries in Catalonia open their doors, bursting with all kinds of experiences based around wine. Wine culture can be found on the shores of the Mediterranean and even extends to the Catalan Pyrenees, more than 1,000 meters high.

Have you decided which route you will take through Catalonia?
