The routes are there to make your life easy. Everyone can enjoy Catalonia's rich heritage, admire art in its museums or experience the nature that surrounds its Green Routes thanks to the existing adapted routes.
Heritage routes One of the main routes for discovering Catalonia's heritage is the Cistercian route. This route features the monasteries of Poblet and Santes Creus, which are both accessible to wheelchair users. The Santes Creus route also offers guides in Braille and tactile models.
Along El Camino de Santiago (The Way of Saint James) in Catalonia you will find three places of recollection and spirituality open for everyone to enjoy. The three monasteries in question are the Monastery of Món Sant Benet, the Monastery of Santa María de Bellpuig de les Avellanes and the Sanctuary of Montserrat. These are offered to pilgrims as resources with facilities for people with disabilities or reduced mobility.
Of course, there are also cultural tours for everyone. The Modernism Route in Barcelona is a route through various locations united by the genius of architects such as Gaudí, Domènech i Montaner and Puig i Cadafalch, among others. Some of these monuments have also become shining examples of accessible cultural heritage. Don´t miss out on a visit to the Palau Güell, La Pedrera or the Casa Batlló.
Green Routes The Green Routes are old railway sections that have been converted into accessible roads and integrated into the natural environment. The Costa Brava has 125 kilometres of Green Routes. You can use adapted bicycles, including hand-bike bicycles, to pedal with your hands, and three models suitable for people with cerebral palsy or comparable disabilities.
The Green Route of Terra Alta, in Terres de l'Ebre, is a 23-kilometre route suitable for travelling by hand-bike. The route can be done in stages, although the most prepared adventurers can do it in one go. The Bot Station Sanctuary of La Fontcalda section (five kilometres) also has facilities for people with visual disabilities.

The monastery of Les Avellanes is a simple complex, not heavily decorated, with several buildings erected during the 20th century. However, the cloister and part of the church, which contains Gothic elements, have been preserved from the original 12th-century building.
This monastery in the famous Catalan mountains unites a community of around eighty Benedictine monks who dedicate their lives to work, prayer and providing shelter.
This includes the magnificent monastery of Sant Benet de Bages from the 10th century, where the key aspects of the innovative guided tours are a multisensory and virtual experience. It is also home to the Alicia Foundation.
