Gastronomic routes through Catalonia

Book
To say that touring Catalonia is a delicacy is more than just an expression. Throughout the territory you can enjoy walks while discovering the area's gastronomy. What more could a foodie want?

Since the era of the first Greek and Roman settlements, Catalonia has been fascinated by gastronomy. It has nurtured its raw ingredients, as well as its cooking methods, to get the best out of its food. Cuisine is a fundamental part of Catalan culture, meaning that the menus that you will find along the gastronomic routes are highly varied: some introduce you to the tapas culture, or the world hiding behind its markets, and other routes offer you the chance to visit gastronomic museums.

Themed gastronomic routes
Catalonia is one of the most prolific oil-producing regions in the world. This liquid gold has left its mark on the landscape and the day-to-day life of many areas on the map, as you can discover with various routes dedicated to the world of the olive. But this is not the only native product with its own gastronomic route, you can also go on a journey of discovery through the regions that produce ´xató´ (a traditional Catalan dish), watch the process of making artisanal sausages and the cheeses of the Catalan Pyrenees or connect with the maritime tradition of the entire Catalan coast.
