The Landscape of Geniuses
Tourism proposalsThe essence of the Ports de Beseit on the table.
This family Hotel Gastronòmic is the ideal place to explore the aromas and colours of the landscape of the Ebro Delta through its timeless Catalan dishes.
Four world-famous artists were born or spent a long time of their lives in southern Catalonia: Gaudí, Casals, Picasso and Miró. The landscapes they admired and lived in make a unique proposal to be discovered.
Antoni Gaudí was born in Reus, this city hosting an interpretive centre devoted to his life and work. Pau Casals was born in El Vendrell. His birthplace and his house in Sant Salvador on the beach, now a museum, can be visited, showing his musical career and featuring the magnificent sound of his cello. Pablo Picasso spent some time in Horta de Sant Joan, where he was left impressed with the Terra Alta landscape, which he depicted in several works reproduced in the Centre Picasso. Joan Miró lived in Mont-roig del Camp and painted its landscape and colours in
most of his first works, as can be seen at the Centre Miró.
The Landscape of Geniuses Route gives an insight into the works of these artists within their respective discipline: painting, architecture and music. Its territory, the Costa Daurada and Terres de l’Ebre, features some valuable scenery, traditions and heritage.
