It is important to note that for the first time this year 10 essential exhibition spaces will be defined and which will be accompanied by an explanatory QR code; the consolidation of services for people with reduced mobility, with the incorporation of a route adapted for those who may need it, and new tourist train routes, one of which will include a stop in front of the railway station.
With the intention of integrating culture into the promotion of the city, during the floral exhibition there will be a series of cultural activities aimed at promoting quality tourism in Girona. Some of the activities which deserve to be highlighted are the second edition of the Girona A Cappella Festival, which this year has a new venue in the Plaza de la Independencia; the celebration of European Opera Day in the Plaza del Vi, and the promotion of the city's museums with a map on the façade of the Girona City Council. There will also be the first SmartFilms Girona contest, a new edition of the digital photography contest and an Instagram contest.
It should be emphasised that the city's hoteliers and traders have once again been involved in the celebration of Girona, Temps de Flors. This year there has been an increase of over 40% in the number of restaurants participating in the exhibition offering menus of flowers, as well as the commercial establishments participating in the 9th Window Dressing and Interior Decoration Contest, making a total of 150 businesses. This year the night venues will activate the "Flores de Noche" (Night Flowers) proposition with a gastronomic offer to extend visits beyond lunch and dinner times.
