Tavascan

Tavascan-Pleta del Prat is a different type of resort concept, aimed at winter mountain lovers. It is ideal for enjoying a variety of sports, starting with Alpine skiing and cross-country skiing. The natural setting and uncrowded runs are the best features of this municipality-owned area.

The resort is located ten kilometres from the town of Tavascan, at the northern end of the Pallars Sobirà region. Founded in 1991, its base is in Pleta del Prat (1,725 metres), while its highest point is at Coll de la Cima (2,250 metres). It is surrounded by impressive summits, such as Mont-Roig, Certascan and Ventolau, as well as numerous glacial lakes, like the Nahorte, Certascan and Mariola. The resort is located along the border of the Alt Pirineu Natural Park.

With regard to Alpine skiing, Tavascan-Pleta del Prat has five runs and five skiable kilometres; one of which is for beginners. A cross-country skiing circuit measuring seventeen kilometres in distance has also been laid out. In addition, its exceptional location has made it possible to open every winter without having to install snow cannons.

But Tavascan-Pleta del Prat is not just limited to skiing. The resort is the best base camp for learning mountaineering and a good starting point for mountain skiing, snowshoeing and freeriding outings. Other activities can be enjoyed as well, such as igloo building and orienteering.

The Pleta del Prat refugi (lodge) at the resort’s base has accommodations for fifty and a bar. It offers meals and an instructors and guides service.
