Spa Sant Ferriol

The Sant Ferriol is the ideal place to turn off and breathe clean air. Its location allows open air activities like hiking, cycling and horse riding, following by relaxation in the spa and with the massages offered. The hotel also has a car rental service.

The Sant Ferriol is a hotel, restaurant and spa based in an old stone country house, set in a corner of the Garrotxa area. The house is surrounded by forests of mainly pine and holm oak, and is very peaceful. The silence is broken only by the song of crickets.

The hotel is rustic and is decorated in wood and warm colours. It has only fourteen rooms, the majority of which have their own terrace, and all have a hydro massage bath, teapot and tea set.

Although the restaurant has a menu with traditional dishes based on seasonal food, it also has special dietary menus and menus for hikers.

The spa is in the basement. They suggest a circuit following this order: swimming pool with pressure jets, at 36 degrees Centigrade; river stones path, to stimulate circulation; Scottish shower, with eighteen water jets at different temperatures; Roman thermal baths or steam baths; vitality baths, at 13 or 14 degrees Centigrade; Finnish sauna, and shower with lavender essential oil. The complete circuit takes approximately one hour.

Next, there are all kinds of treatments such as geothermal and herbal Thai massages lymphatic drainage massage, reflexology therapy, wraps using seaweed and mud, and a hot chocolate wrap.

Anti-ageing treatment with extract of caviar, and moisturising treatment with cotton and orchid flower are just some of the options for facial skincare. One of the most complete therapies, also for face and neck, is the so-called Sant Ferriol, which combines the benefits of ninety marine oligo-elements with the firming properties of wild violets.

All the services and facilities are open to the general public, whether they are staying in the hotel or not. However, visits to the spa must be booked in advance.

Near to Sant Ferriol is the volcanic park of La Garrotxa, an unmissable visit. Other places to see are not far away, such as the lake of Banyoles and the town of Girona.
