The Aubenç mountain range is a natural area in the western Pyrenean foothills in the region of Alt Urgell with a spectacular, rugged relief. It is of great biogeographical interest and is home to a wide variety of Mediterranean and Eurosiberian plant communities. In terms of wildlife, it is worth pointing out the species native to the ranges in the central Pyrenean foothills, in the valley of the Segre river, including large rupicolous birds of prey.
Hiking, climbing and motor sports are popular here. It is totally accessible via several mountain tracks.
The hermitages of Sant Miquel de les Masies and Santa María de Remolins, as well as some country houses and groups of houses, are the most important elements of cultural interest in this area.
