Heir to the long tradition of the Bar-Restaurante Moderno in the same town, the Nou Moderno started out with the desire to share with its clients the surrounding produce and area. Tradition with sparks of innovation make up part of its menu, with up-to-date revisions of old favourites and the local wine as a common theme.
It offers contemporary cuisine although working from traditional dishes. Examples of this reworked Terra Alta cuisine are dishes such as trout in juice, the clotxa stuffed bread roll or the veal fricandeau.
The wine, essential element of the area's culture and development, is another of the house's star turns and, as a family from the countryside, they back local wines.
