Món Sant Benet is a highly unique cultural, tourism and leisure project which was set up in the municipality of Sant Fruitós de Bages in November 2007 and driven by the foundation Fundació Catalunya-La Pedrera. It is a unique ensemble which, just 45 minutes from Barcelona, harmoniously integrates different activities and projects, all within an incomparable natural environment.
Món Sant Benet boasts the magnificent monastery of Sant Benet de Bages dating from the 10th century, which allows innovative guided tours on which multi-sensory and virtual activities are key features. Part of the monastery is mediaeval and has been completely restored and there is a more modern part in which you can visit the rooms that belonged to the acclaimed painter Ramon Cases, who owned the building.
It is also home to Fundació Alícia, Ali mentació i Cièn cia, a research centre devoted to cuisine which is open to visitors and offers different activities. Furthermore, excellent services can be found here: a four-star hotel, three restaurants (one with a Michelin star) and a convention and congress centre.
All of the guided tours (monastery and kitchen garden) follow accessible routes for people with reduced mobility. For the two monastery visits, the audiovisual materials are in Catalan and Spanish, and sign language can be arranged upon prior notification.
