The section begins in el Prat de Llobregat and runs parallel to the Llobregat river until it reaches the center of Martorell, in front of the Martorell-Vila station.
In the section between the Pont del Diable in Martorell and the footbridge that connects the river axis with the municipality of Cornellà, the route is flooded and impassable in the event of heavy rains due to accumulation of mud. For this reason, the route follows, in the sections where it is possible, the route of the ADIF service road. The route passes through the municipalities of Sant Boi de Llobregat, Sant Joan Despí, Santa Coloma de Cervelló, Sant Vicenç dels Horts, Pallejà, Sant Andreu de la Barca and Castellbisbal to finally reach Martorell. The route runs parallel to the river Llobregat.
On the footbridge that connects Sant Boi de Llobregat with Cornellà de Llobregat you can connect with the EuroVelo 8 route to the south.
In Sant Joan Despí we find one of the most important legacies of the modernist architecture of Josep Maria Jujol i Gibert, who was able to dominate the architecture imposing a new style in the field of decorative techniques, interior design, sculpture, painting ... Jujol's architectural work is characterized by the simplicity of its means contrasted with its originality. The quality of his works becomes out of all conventionalism. You can take the Jujol route to enjoy the modernist architecture in the city.
In Santa Coloma de Cervelló you will find the crypt of the Colònia Güell, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This crypt designed by the renowned architect Antoni Gaudí is considered to be a model of the Sagrada Familia, as Gaudí practiced those techniques that he later applied to the Sagrada Familia. If you want to know first hand not only the crypt but also the Colònia Güell, a modernist textile colony of the Güell family, take one of the visits organized by the town's tourist office.
At the entrance to Martorell awaits you the Pont del Diable (Devil's Bridge), one of the few remains preserved as evidence of the Roman road network, this bridge was destroyed over the centuries, the last time during the Spanish Civil War, and is rebuilt in Gothic style. You can also enjoy the Enrajolada-Casa Museo Santacana where its owner, influenced by the romantic current of the 19th century, was collecting remains of palaces and old religious buildings.
