The Masella ski resort is located in La Cerdanya, one of the Pyrenean valleys with the most hours of sunshine a year. Its location, almost in the very centre of the region, makes it an excellent vantage point less than two hours away from the main towns of Catalonia.
Masella boasts 68 kilometres of skiing area, with 56 runs of varying difficulty for skiers of all levels. Beginners will find very gentle runs where they can start learning. Families can enjoy one that has a large drop but a gentle slope. The more expert skiers can test their skills on the black runs of Coma Oriola. The children’s competition and the latest freestyle trends also have their own space.
One of the resort’s main attractions is its extensive forests, which create very beautiful and pleasant surroundings. In fact, the ski area borders the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. Its wooded vegetation and northern orientation ensure good quality snow throughout the season.
Masella’s highest point is at the Tosa summit, which sits at 2,535 metres, while its lowest is at Pla de Masella (1,600 metres). Thus, it is possible to go skiing or surfing on the biggest drop of the eastern Pyrenees: 935 metres. The land it covers is also one of Masella’s draws, as it connects with the neighbouring resort, La Molina, in the extensive area known as Alp 2.500.
Pla de Masella offers all the amenities of a modern resort. From the most diverse services for skiers to a "snow garden" teaching area for the little ones, and including restaurants, shops and accommodations, amongst others. In addition to Alpine skiing and snowboarding, Masella also offers activities such as mountain skiing, snowblading and telemark skiing.
During the summer, Masella remains open and fully operational, tailoring its offering to nature leisure. The Masella Multi-adventure Park is equipped with zip lines, Tibetan bridges, archery areas, etc. In addition, Pla de Masella is an excellent starting point for numerous walking trails that lead into the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park and other places in La Cerdanya.
