Hotel Balneari Vallfogona de Riucorb

All of the rooms in the Balneari de Vallfogona de Riucorb include a 40-minute session in the spa water pool, per person and day. You can also enjoy the whirlpool bath and the steam room. The spa also offers relaxation, breathing and back treatments.

The Vallfogona de Riucorb spa resort is the nearest one to the town of Tàrrega and the dry plains of Plana de Lleida. A stone building on four floors is where the hotel and spa are based, along with a large private park and gardens in which majestic ancient trees grow.

The springs, known as Font Gran and Font Petita (large spring and small spring) were discovered in 1850. The spa resort became operational in 1901, and two years later the health authorities approved the waters to be used for therapeutic purposes.

The water contains calcium, magnesium and sodium sulphate. Despite its strong smell, it is suitable for skin complaints such as psoriasis and eczemas. In Vallfogona successful treatments are also available for digestive, kidney and respiratory complaints, as well as for rheumatism, arthritis, obesity and post-traumatic recovery.

The water temperature in the springs is 14 degrees, but it is heated to up to 31-37 degrees prior to applying it in various treatments, such as bubble baths, high-pressure showers Kneipp, inhalations and saunas. You can also choose other non-water related treatments, such as massages, geothermal therapy, Parafango and paraffin treatments, pressotherapy and gym rehabilitation.

The three star hotel can accommodate 162 guests and has a large banqueting hall, an open-air pool, play area and chapel.

Vallfogona de Riucorb is on the Ruta del Císter, a tourist route which includes the neighbouring monasteries of Vallbona de les Monges, Poblet and Santes Creus.
