The Vallter 2000 Ski Resort offers a wide range of activities in the most easterly section of the Pyrenees, an ideal place for practising mountain sports in the fresh air with the whole family.
In the middle of the stunning surroundings of the Natural Park of Les Capçaleres del Ter i del Freser there is a ski slope Vallter 2000. Its great location means that you can also enjoy lots of other activities such as hiking, with lots of different routes and circuits along the valley to enjoy on foot or bicycle. You can also visit the source of the River Ter by chairlift whilst contemplating an exceptional panorama, given that from 2,535m altitude you can see the bay at Roses (Costa Brava).
The large variety of activities and services available means that you can have a really great experience at Vallter with all the family. Some of the things on offer include:
- Chairlifts with four places. Access to the source of the River Ter via an ascent which allows you to contemplate some special scenery, especially on clear days when you can see Roses bay and the Costa Brava.
-Visit the Natural Park of Les Capçaleres del Ter i del Freser. 14,750 hectares covering the upper valleys of the rivers Ter and Freser, bordering the Catalan Pyrenees Regional Natural Park.
- Hiking with your family. This is the perfect landscape for family hikes as there are routes and levels of difficulty to suit everyone.
- Cycling climbs through the Vallter 2000 mountain pass. This fully-signposted, twelve kilometre climb starts in the village of Setcases and ends in the upper carpark of the Vallter 2000 ski resort, with a total vertical climb of 895 metres. Up at the top you can enjoy some spectacular views of the glacial cirque of Morens.
- The Ter route. This is a cycle tourism and hiking trail which links the two ends of the tourism spectrum, the Pyrenees and the Costa Brava, via a route which follows the River Ter and passes through five districts.
