Day 1
Mataró-La Roca del Vallès
If you like the Sagrada Familia and the Güell Park, just get in the car! Beyond Barcelona there are more modernist treasures awaiting. Incredible works by Antoni Gaudí and Josep Puig i Cadafalch in Mataró, and the house museum of architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner in Canet de Mar. It's what they call the modernist triangle route, in Maresme, brought to you by the Ajuntament de Canet de Mar and that of Mataró. From there, it's on to the Museu del Càntir in Argentona, with over 3,000 jugs of various origins. A truly intriguing trip out. If you're with children, let them go crazy at Illa Fantasia, a water park with a vast number of slides and pools. Next, we'll put our foot down and go to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, in Montmeló. Once there, we'll get to see how F1 and Moto GP races are organised, and you'll even be able to fly round the circuit yourself in a Ferrari or a racing cycle. Finish the day with a treat in the outlets at la Roca Village. Luxurious discounts!
Day 2
Caldes de Montbui-Vic
Up bright and early, it's time to relax the mind, body and soul in Caldes de Montbui, at the Termes Victòria and Vila de Caldes spas. Take the little ones to el Cim d'Àligues in Sant Feliu de Codines, where you'll be left speechless by the eagles and vultures in full flight. If it's history that you're after, don't miss out on Sant Miquel del Fai, a well preserved Catalan Gothic treasure in an incredible natural space, and the Coves del Toll in Moià, rich prehistoric grottos in a quaternary habitat. To round off the day, we'll take a segway tour through the historical centre of Vic in the guided tour offered by Victurisme. We'll journey through the city's most beautiful corners and finish it all off by tasting some traditional cold cuts at the Erre de Vic workshop.
Day 3
Vic-Sant Hilari Sacalm
Start the day in the skies! We'll join up with Aircat.cat to take a family hot air balloon ride and enjoy the diverse landscapes of Vic, Montserrat and the Pyrenees. Back on dry land, they'll serve us a breakfast in a traditional country house. Next up, how about a stroll through the incredible forests of Viladrau? Castanya de Viladrau offers several different routes and some delicious roast chestnuts. And if you want to keep moving, follow the Sant Hilari Sacalm Ajuntament's route up to Osor, where you'll take a stroll or a mountain bike down the tracks beaten by the bandit Joan de Serrallonga.
Day 4
Arbúcies-Hostalric
Today we'll become immersed in the heart of the Parc Natural del Montseny and discover the rich greenery of this UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve at the flora and fauna workshops offered by L'Aglà, in Arbúcies. Then it's on to Breda, where Can Mariano's breakfast will give you the energy you need for a walking, mountain biking or electric cycling visit to one of Catalonia's most notable medieval fortresses, Castell de Montsoriu. On the way back, a delicious meal and another route towards Hostalric, where, in the company of the Domus Sent Soví cuisine centre, we'll learn all about its medieval treasures: la Fortalesa, Els Frares tower, the medieval city walls... Afterwards, get ready to enjoy sampling some typical local products all washed down with a glass of wine and cava.
Day 5
Santa Susanna-Arenys de Mar
The Estació Nàutica de Santa Susanna provides classes in water-skiing, kayak surfing, windsurf, etc. And the team at Pesca Alegre in Arenys de Mar take you offshore for a bit of fishing practice. But if you prefer the sea from the shore, the Sant Pol de Mar coastal path will take you to the town's most beautiful corners, as well as beaches such as Roca Grossa or la Murtra.
Day 6
Caldes d'Estrac-Sant Esteve de Palautordera
In Caldes d'Estrac visit the Fundació Palau, which displays the artistic background of this recognised Picasso expert. If you're looking for adrenalin for the whole family, head off to Montseny Aventura in Sant Esteve de Palautordera, where you can have a go at archery, paintballing and mountain biking trails.
