Day 1

Beer tasting
How does a beer sound? If you like artisan beer, you'll love finding out how it's made. Cervesa del Montseny, a micro-brewery based in Sant Miquel de Balenyà (Seva), organises visits in which you'll have a look round the facilities and finish off by sampling the different varieties of beer that the brand offers.

Fresh produce in Vic
It would be unthinkable to visit Vic without tasting its exclusive artisan sausages or the region's natural products. Visit the traditional Mercat de Vic. You'll be able to sample the traditional llonganissa (a sausage made with spicy meat, bacon, salt and pepper), as well as black truffles, Vic onions, buffet potatoes, Osona bread, honey, cheeses, mushrooms and vegetables. An authentic spectacle to ensnare the senses.

Day 2

The peas of Caldes d'Estrac
Caldetes, as it is popularly known, is a region famous for its thermal waters, spas, but also its peas. Each spring they host a festival of cuisine during which the local restaurants prepare delicious meals with one ingredient in common: the pea referred to as "de la floreta (from the woods)", which is noted for its sweet and subtle taste.

The Maresme delicatessen
Its land and microclimate make this region one of Catalonia's great orchards. The Consell Comarcal del Maresme organises 50 cuisine days scheduled over the course of the year, during which you can sample the region's fine produce: strawberries, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes and so on. Delights which then become exquisite dishes in the region's only Michelin star restaurant, Chef Carme Ruscalleda's Sant Pau, in Sant Pol de Mar.

DO Alella wine tasting
The Alta Alella wine cellar offers visits including trips through its organically cultivated vineyards and tasting sessions of its DO Alella wines and cavas. They also provide a wide range of activities including dramatised tours, poetry walks and even yoga classes in the vineyards. Incredible.

Arenys, taste the sea
Arenys harbours fine seafood from squid and prawns, to crayfish and sand lace; it might not have a DO certification, but it definitely deserves it. Get on board with the Peix Nostrum fishermen, in Arenys de Mar, to see how they catch sand lace; you'll even get to try a bit afterwards. You'll be licking your lips!
