Escaldàrium

Escaldàrium is defined as the fire and water festival, and combines original music, fireworks and water with a Ball de Diables explaining how fire from hell converted the water in the subsoil of Caldes into thermal spring water.

This spectacular setting from the legend on thermal spring water is one of the most popular dates on the festival calendar of Caldes de Montbui. As from the midnight on the second Saturday of July six fire dances and three water dances alternate accompanied by a live orchestra playing the music of Escaldàrium.

During the fire dances, people dance and jump under the sparks of the devils, whilst during the water dances everyone dances under the jet of water from powerful hoses. The festival was created in 1994 and is unique and characteristic on the panorama of Catalonia's popular festivals. During the entire weekend several activities are organised which include dances during a truly grand summer festival.
