Do you like a challenge? Val d'Aran and Alt Pirineu are the birthplaces of adventure sports. Fall in love with the landscape whilst rafting, paragliding, taking a helicopter ride, skidooing your way up to a spa, or skiing over fresh snow. 

Day 1

Val d'Aran, by helicopter
Start the day with a descent down the cliffs of Val d'Aran, as Deportur takes you to Bausen to jump into plunge pools or go rappelling. If you prefer to watch it all from the sidelines, take a helicopter ride with Aran Experience in Vielha.

Climb up on a skidoo
The Banhs de Tredòs spa is inaccessible by car in the winter, but you can head up on a skidoo from Salardú, you can also take a snow-shoeing excursion up to lake Colomers.

Wildlife in Bossòst
If you're with children, go to the 'Aran Park' animal park in Bossòst. You'll see bears, lynxes, otters and marmots - indigenous Pyrenean species - and even a pair of adopted white wolves.

Day 2

Ski off-piste
Pyrenees Heliski takes you to the summit in a helicopter ride from Vielha, once there, you'll be joined by a guide to safely ski through the fresh snow.

Sled excursion
Feel the speed of a sled pulled by 12 dogs. In the company of a musher, Copos Events organises a route from El Pla de Beret to the forest of Dossau or Montgarri - you'll also have the option of a lunch or dinner.

The Mecca of rafting
Join Rubber River in Sort and get soaked with some rafting or hydrospeed in the Noguera Pallaresa, the best white-water river in Spain.

Day 3

Buggy ride through La Vall Fosca
Excursions Vall Fosca offers you the opportunity to drive one through several routes departing from La Pobleta de Bellveí, suitable for children above four years old.

Routes on foot
If you love walking, Pirineu Emoció will take you through the Cinquè Llac Route. A spectacular voyage to the Montcortès Lake, which also passes by the Pont del Diable, whose dizzying height makes it an impressive feat of engineering. If you're looking for landscapes that take your breath away, look no further than the Parc Nacional d'Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici, the only national park in Catalonia, including sections with footbridges for wheelchairs.

Paragliding
Feel like a bird and paraglide over Vall de Boí. If you dare not go alone, go along with a Parapente Voltor instructor on a two-seater flight from Betren.
