The perfect combination of the benefits of the sea water and the therapeutic use of the waters of Caldetes, mineral-medicinal waters with thousands of years of history. More than 200 square metres of modern facilities with four distinct spaces dedicated to health, beauty and well-being.

The Colón Hotel in Caldes d’Estrac is unique in Europe for its combination of thermal spa and thalassotherapy treatments. The water flows straight from the spring through pipes that run through the town´s public baths.

The water, which emerges at 38.8 degrees, has a high concentration of sodium, making it ideal for treating bone disorders and circulatory, respiratory and digestive system complaints. Although the beach is just opposite the hotel, the seawater is drawn from about six hundred metres out to sea. Once in the spa centre, it is filtered and heated to 37 degrees Centigrade. It is returned to the sea after use.

The hotel was opened in 2004, and has a functional and modern appearance. The spa is on the lower floors and occupies 2,500 square metres, a thousand of which are terraces.

In the Thalasso area there is an indoor pool twelve metres long, fitted with various jets and bubble beds. Seawater is also used in the hydro massage baths and in the shower temple. The hot spring water is used for inhalations and other treatments.

The flotation tank is a bath with five hundred kilos of Epsom salts (manganese sulphate), which softens skin and soothes joint pain. The outdoor Jacuzzi is the only one that uses mains water.

Treatments cover a wide range of options, from wraps using mud and seaweed to electro-stimulation on the face and body, and including pressotherapy and cromotherapy. Other treatments worth considering are facial moisturising with marine concentrates and peeling with honey. There is also a wide range of massages: Thai, Korean, Shiatsu, Shirodara, with chocolate, with hot stones (chakra stones) etc.

These treatments are grouped in packages, such as anti-stress, beauty, sensations and repairing treatment after sunbathing.

The Silk Route ritual, one of the most sophisticated, consists of a vanilla, cinnamon and orange bath, a skin exfoliation with spices, bamboo and poppy, a body wrap with silk extract and a choice of massages.

The hotel also has a gym, where they provide instructor-led fitness activities, posture classes, Pilates and many others. Only the aquagym is done in the swimming pool.

The complex also has a medical and beauty centre that provides a number of services such as Botox injections, acne treatment, depilation, blood tests, homeopathic treatments and acupuncture.

Other beauty-related services are the hairdressing salon and a shop selling cosmetics.
