The Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) has three exhibition rooms, three rooms and various multifunctional areas where all kinds of artistic and cultural expressions are organised, such as alternative cinema festivals, excerpts from documentaries or conferences.
The center de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB), attached to the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA) and inaugurated in 1994, boasts 49,000 square feet with an auditorium, three exhibition rooms, three lecture rooms and several multi-purpose spaces where all kinds of artistic and cultural expressions take place.
It came about as a multidisciplinary institution devoted to the study of cities, urban culture and everything that derives from them. The center organise thematic and artistic exhibitions of the most diverse styles, in addition to alternative cinema and documentary festivals, conferences, musical performances and even children's activities.
The inner courtyard, called the Women's Courtyard, accommodates concerts, presentations, projections and plays, all very pleasant on a summer evening. From the Mirador room, on the fifth floor, there is a good view of the city and Raval neighbourhood.
The center features the Laie-CCCB bookshop, a bar-restaurant with terrace and a documentation center.
