Adventure Route in the Espluga Caves - Introductory visit to caving

Guided visit through the most genuine part of the subterranean caverns of L'Espluga Caves where the River Francoli flows.

For the more daring visitors, the Espluga Caves offer a visit beyond the museum. Go up the underground river through the most unusual and amazing galleries of this cavity. Equipped with a wetsuit, helmet and light, visitors, always accompanied by two speleological guides, enter through the most genuine part of the cave until they reach the great Sala de la Biela.

During the journey, visitors will learn about the geological formation of this underground cavity, the wells that allowed its discovery, the water circuit and the trajectory of the river, the process of filtering and draining the water, the diaclases, and the Lake Gallery, a place of Iberian rituals.

The reception area of L'Espluga Caves (Av. Catalunya) in L'Espluga de Francolí. Please arrive 10 minutes before the time of your booked visit to allow time to change your vouchers for entry tickets.

To take into account: L'Espluga Caves will provide wetsuits, helmet and torches. The visitor should bring swimwear, old shoes (with laces or buckle) for wearing in the water, a towel and soap for showering after the visit.

Accessibility: This activity is not suitable for the mentally or physically disabled. Unfortunately we do not have services for people with sight or hearing difficulties.
