Get to know each of the stories of the animals that have been rescued for a better life at the Món La Bassa shelter, an educational space that aims to promote animal welfare and community participation.
In Vendrell there is a place with very special inhabitants: from pigs, goats, sheep, horses and donkeys, to rabbits, turtles, ducks and turkeys. It is a sanctuary for farm animals that have been rescued to give them a better life. A couple cares for and pampers them in this open space where the animals can live and run about to their hearts' content. You will learn their stories; you will be able to see and feed them and the visit will become a real learning experience. La Bassa is an educational space that wants to convey to young and old the importance of animal respect and citizen participation. Interaction with animals helps to create empathy in children and develop their social skills.
Visits open to the public are on Sundays from 11 am to 1 pm. The entrance fee is a donation that is put towards the maintenance of the animals, the upkeep of the farm and the financing of the project in general. After the activity you can go to Coma-ruga beach for a bite to eat at the restaurant Casa Pepe, enjoy the afternoon in the sun and spend the night at the Santa Maria del Mar hostel.
