The Saó occupies a historic building, over 300 years old, which houses a small hotel with five comfortable rooms with modern amenities. The interior décor is simple, thoughtful and elegant, and the source of energy for heating and hot water is a biomass boiler using the latest technology, in addition to two fireplaces with a heat utilization system. All rooms are spacious with a large shower and toilet, balcony or terrace, telephone and wifi. One of the rooms has disabled access.
The hotel has a private car park, a garden with a relaxation area, a terrace, music bar, a restaurant with a remarkable wine cellar, lounge and library with two fireplaces.
The Saó is in Bescaran, a town in the Alt Urgell region, 1,360 metres high and five kilometres from La Seu d'Urgell. Near the hotel is a 12th century Romanesque bell tower and a megalithic site. The hotel is a short distance from two of the most spectacular natural areas of Catalonia: the Parc Natural del Alt Pirineu and the Parc Natural del Cadí-Moixeró.
