Description

Strategy, adrenaline, and a dose of good humour. Paintballing is a physical, group sport that requires skill. It includes some of the basic characteristics of other team games, such as communication, teamwork and camaraderie, and consists of using compressed air markers to shoot small balls filled with paint at other players. Normally, there are two opposing teams. The goal is to eliminate all the players of the other team and achieve a specific goal (like capturing a flag or eliminating a certain player). A typical non-professional game tends to last between five minutes and half an hour. The sport can be played either indoors or outdoors. Outdoor venues can be either natural or man-made, with various obstacles or themed settings designed to resemble a fortress or castle, for example. When the game is played in a natural environment, the setting itself becomes yet another player in the contest. Trees, rocks, buildings, artificial ditches –everything makes the players feel like they are taking part in a real battle. The characteristics of the game bring out the participants’ individual and group skills: improvisation, initiative, bravery, ingenuity, intelligence, leadership, etc. Paintballing is perfectly safe, as it is practiced according to regulations and using the necessary equipment. Barcelona Paintball, founded in 1994, is the oldest strategy games company in all Spain. It is located in La Palma de Cervelló, in the of El Baix Llobregat region, and it has a playing area of 150,000 square metres.
