The cooperative started its activity in 1960, although the history of the previous mill goes back almost one century. Many of the verdiell variety olive trees cultivated here also date back some hundred years. The oil production process employed here is traditional: the olives are milled using a millstone and oil is extracted via cold pressing.
The oil is sold in plastic or glass bottles, and carafes of various sizes. It is sold directly during the winter months in the olive oil season, and from November to March the general public can visit the facilities by prior appointment.
