Ever since Bob Marley popularised and exported them from Jamaica to the rest of the world, reggae music and culture have continued to spread to an extraordinary degree. The Nowa Reggae Festival is a good example of this. For some years now, Vilanova i la Geltrú has offered, on a weekend in the month of July, interesting concerts and cultural activities designed to satisfy the most demanding public.
Groups from Jamaica and other countries offer sensual and cadenced rhythms, dance workshops, dj sessions and even sports activities. The artists invited to participate are both established starts and new faces on the reggae scene.
The event is held in different venues in the city. Noteworthy among them are the amazing location Xiringuito l’U on Ribes Roges Beach and Molí de Mar, a municipal complex made up of three buildings and a spacious terraced garden next to the beach.
