The restoration, completed in 2005, was carried out using original local materials, maintaining the characteristic features of Catalan rural architecture. In addition, all of today's amenities have been incorporated. The house consists of a ground floor and separate accommodation. In the former stables on the ground floor there is a reading room, a wine cellar and a living room with a fireplace located in the old wartime shelter. The first floor has the separate accommodation measuring 100 square metres for up to ten people.
The surroundings are characterised by mountains and sites of natural interest. Among the charming villages of Gombrèn and La Pobla de Lillet, Mas Merolla offers incredible views of Catllaràs and Pedraforca. The area is marked by the presence of Count Arnau, whose castle ruins are among other landmarks. From the house, guests can go on numerous walking routes.
