The village of Àreu, 1,220 metres above the sea, belongs to the municipality of Alins, formed by the valleys of the rivers Noguera de Vallferrera and Noguera de Tor. It is located in the northwest of Pallars Sobirà province, in the heart of the Pyrenees. Here is where the highest peaks of the Catalan Pyrenees are found, including Pica d'Estats (3,143 metres), Monteixo (2,905 metres) and Pic de Baborte (2,938 metres), among others. Àreu is a starting point for these peaks and for flatter roads such as those of Pla de la Selva, Port de Boet and Bosc de Costuix.
La Perxada is an independent rural apartment with a fully equipped kitchen, a living/dining room, a fully appointed bathroom and two double bedrooms. It sleeps four people. There is free wireless Internet. It affords lovely views of the church steeple, the village and the surrounding nature.
