Inaugurated in 1943, La Molina ski resort is the oldest in Catalonia. It was the first Spanish ski resort to have a ski lift, a chair lift, a cable car, a four-seat chair lift as well as the first to have a ski school. La Molina is situated in the Cerdanyaregion, at a minimum altitude of 5,577 feet and a maximum of 8,022 feet.
La Molina boasts 45 ski slopes, 33 miles of skiing area, eight ski schools and 400 instructors. The family-oriented setting is supplemented by a determined commitment to competition: three permanent competition stadiums host the training sessions of numerous clubs as well as snow-related competitions and events.
