Every summer since 1968, the parade ground of the medieval castle in Calonge has been the setting of the oldest music festival celebrated on the Costa Brava. Since its 2011 edition, with the new name Interludi, the festival has broadened its musical and cultural offer to include different genres ranging from alternative music to folk, pop and jazz. Noteworthy within the new concept of the festival is the section devoted to design and the special attention paid to gastronomy, with exquisite catering now offered before the concerts.
The 8th century medieval castle in Calonge is one of the largest medieval constructions in Baix Empordà. Its parade ground offers excellent acoustic conditions which, along with the beauty of the space, make for an exceptional setting for the festival.
