In Catalonia we have good weather, a wide variety of countryside, the sea and the mountains... there are climbs and descents of different degrees of difficulty that delight mountain bikers, and off-road routes you can go on all year round.
Did you know there are 18 MTB routes? The MTB centre is the reception point. Here you will find all the information you require about the route, showers, bike hire if you don’t have your own... These routes are generally circular and avoid sections with motorized traffic, keeping built-up surfaces and two-way traffic to a minimum. In all there are 6,400 km of signposted itineraries classified according to degree of difficulty.
But, in addition to this network of MTB Centres and routes, the Catalan geography is one of the most privileged for doing this sport.
You can discover the beauty of the landscape at the Vall d'Aran, go around Cadí-Moixeró through the impressive crags of the Cadí sierra, do a section of the Camí dels Bons Homes in the region of Berguedà or delve through Paisatges Barcelona into the Vall de Sau-Collsacabra, where the popular Cabrerès-MTB is held in the month of May.
In Terres de Lleida, in the Montsec, you can take a variety of routes between the reservoirs of the Noguera, the largest expanse of fresh water in Catalonia.
If you prefer cycling beside the sea, you can go from the Pyrenees to the Costa Brava by MTB covering the final kilometres with the Mediterranean beneath you. On the Costa de Barcelona you can go on a route through the hermitages along the paths of the Montnegre, and on the Costa Daurada there are lots of MTB tracks that take you through the mountains and others by the beaches.
And if you still want more action, we propose the Transcatalunya route, a long, circular route that takes in the whole of Catalonia thanks to the union of the various hubs that join up all of the network’s MTB centres. A whole connection of routes that will take you wherever you want.
Get your mountain bike and set off on your adventure!
