The stone walls are the only architectural elements that recall the house's past, and they have been blended harmoniously with the present through the use of modern, sustainable materials. Wood, glass and a warm colours offer a welcoming atmosphere. The furnishings are both comfortable and functional and the uncluttered environment features historical pieces that have been restored from the original family home. In an effort to respect the environment the house features solar powered hot water, the lights are all low consumption and all waste is to be classified, for which the collaboration of the guests is requested.
The different available spaces allow for communal activities as well as the enjoyment of isolated spaces for reading, listening to music, admiring the scenery or contemplating the wide variety of birdlife common to the area. The owners have purposely designed the large, functional kitchen as a space for sharing recipes among friends. Following in this spirit of sharing, the guests are free to avail of the family cookbook, which is left in the kitchen and which includes a selection of their favourite recipes, and are encouraged to include recipes of their own.
